Thanks for your helpful comment re getting started without having received approval from ebay. My question is this: When applying for acceptance as an affiliate by Amazon, if I understand correctly, the URL I submit to Amazon should have no ads, no affiliate links…just content. If that is the case, would it make sense to wait to enter ANY info into the “edit options” tool until after I submit one URL (with content only)to Amazon, ebay, Clickbank, Overstock, CJ etc ?

Yes, if you are using a Mage site, I THINK it’s best to not have any affiliate links on it. With a Mage site, you can accomplish that by leaving the affiliate fields blank when you build your site. However, Mage sites can sometimes have strange unrelated content. Check the content, and dont’ load it with thousands of posts. You may be better just creating the posts with the articles Mage tool.

Now what about adding Adsense ads to sites that I’ve already built with CPMage? When I first started, I didn’t have an AdSense account. Now I do and I figure I might as well start adding AdSense to future (and past?) posts.

To add adsense, I think all you have to do is login to the wp admin area, add your pub id to the affiliate mage plugin, (Include the “Pub-) then be sure the whydowork adsense plugin is enabled. That should be it!

Thanks. I tried that, and I don’t see any place in Affiliate Mage to put in the ID. It’s got to be somewhere. Guess I’ll keep looking . . .

Amy
A question about Amazon affiliate ID: I have one amazon id with my current site (not a wpmage site) with automotive niche My current id looks like xxxcars-20, and I follow the guide to get both amazon AWS Key as well as
Amazon AWS Secret Key.
Will this be alright? Or I have to apply for a new amazon affiliate id for magesites

Yes, you can use that tracking ID, and you will get money. You can also go to “my account,” then “manage tracking ids,” and create a new one for each website you make. Doing so will enable to you see exactly which sites are making money. But it’s not necessary. It’s just for tracking purposes.

With the addition of linkshare and chitika, do we have to go back to our previous blogs and update them with these links??

No, you do not have to.

Hi Amy, I’m new to the WPMage world and am trying to create mage sites without epn. Right now I’m focusing on clickbank products with a review of the featured product on a sticky front page. I want to place a link on every back post that will direct traffic back to the front page where there are links and banners to the vendor’s site, and understand that “why Do Work” plugin will allow this.
My question is this: What is the procedure for adding code that I need to plug into the ad#1 area?
Can you help me with this?
Thanks

Use the html code from the website below. Change the url and text to suit your purposes. Just put the code into the whydowork adsense plugin. You may want to consider putting a money link right below it, too. Just in case some people are too lazy to surf to your front page.

Lets say I create some Mage sites without Ebay. Then later I get approved with EPN and I want to update those existing sites with Ebay products. How is that done?
Thanks for a great site,
Walter

I think you would use the reposting wizard.
