Liquid Web VPS set up letter to send to support (487)Settings for CPMage on a LiquidWeb VPS
(Open a ticket and attach this document to the ticket. Ask them to get your VPS set up like this for you.)
Dear Liquid Web Support Staff,
I need my VPS set up as outlined below. I will be installing a script called WPmage or CPMage onto new accounts. It takes over the control panel like a skin. From within my CPMage backend, I then can addon domains automatically, without ever touching my cPanel again.
Please spend some time with me on the phone to teach me how to create a new account/Cpanel with the package below. Also, please show me how I can use my different IP addresses when I create a new account.
The needed configurations are:
PHP5 – You may have a dual install of PHP4/5 in which case check your .htaccess on that particular sites to make sure it is configured to PHP5. you may also want to make sure all new sites created by default are assigned to PHP5
suPHP Enabled – This allows PHP to run as a User. please make sure in addition to being enabled – it assigned to the account as s whole
cURL enabled – This allows the Mage to emulate a web browser.
MySqli installed (please note that is MYSQLi) there is an i there
Create my new Nameservers and talk me through setting them up in the “Host Summary” in Godaddy. (Or wherever I have my domains.)
Create a package:
Name it “Mage.”
Everything unlimited.

Hi Amy,
Do you feel VPS is the best way to go? I don’t mind paying the extra to get stable hosting especially given the problems people seem to be having with the Mage on the cheap providers like Just Host.
Have you found that you could upload lots of sites with thousands of posts with no problems with Liquidweb and how many sites can you upload to your account compared to the 20-30 at the shared providers? What have your experiences been so far?
Thanks!

Hi Amy,
I have the same question as Mike. Are there disadvantages to a VPS such as just one IP address or the like? How many sites can one safely place on a VPS?
Thank you.

Hi Amy,
Actually I have another question. Is it necessary to reinstall CPMage for each group of sites one creates (20-30)? Can’t you just create the pages and FTP then to any other server?
Thanks again.

I think you have to reinstall cpmage for each new “batch” of mage sites you want to build.

Hello Amy,
Assuming I sign-up for LiquidWeb VPS, like how many sites can I create from this hosing instance.
Thanks a lot for your response!

I’m thinking around 200-300. Hard to say for sure because it depends on how many posts, translation, images, etc. It will hold a LOT!

It hard to see your tweak settings on this board:) I’m trying to set mine as yours are set. Any way to get a larger pic with all the settings shown? I’m getting a message that says “No addon domains allowed”

For your error message, check the package that you are using for that cpanel. Did you set it to “unlimited” domains? That’s my best guess.
You don’t have to tweak the settings. Just send that letter to liquid web support, and they will do that for you.
